The Forest Service has posted significant updates to the RRG Management Plan.

On the "Analysis" tab see the plan details: FinalRedRiverComprehensiveRiverManagementPlan_20210922
In this document you can find detailed maps of the proposed new trails, front-country campsites, parking etc.: 20220107 Revised RRG EA and FONSI

The "Decision" tab has the official Draft Notice ("DN") and other documents.

Notice, starting today 1-14-2022: If no objections are filed within the 45-day time period, implementation of the decision may occur five business days following the last day of the objection period. When objections are filed, implementation may occur immediately following the date that all concerns and instructions identified by the Reviewing Officer in the objection response have been addressed.

Dear Forest Visitor:
Thank you for your interest in projects on the Daniel Boone National Forest.  You are subscribed to Red River Gorge Management Planning for USDA Forest Service. This information has recently been updated, and is now available.
The project's environmental assessment has been revised based on public comments, and supporting documentation are available on-line at: https://www.fs.usda.gov/project/?project=59892.
Two Draft Decision Notices are now available for your review: one covers the proposed Comprehensive River Management Plan and the other proposes a wide range of management activities to address recreation within the Red River Gorge.  Both of these projects are subject to the pre-decisional objection process at 36 CFR Subparts A and B. If you wish to object, please state which Draft Decision you are objecting to: the Red River CRMP or the Red River Gorge Management Actions. See attached letters for more information.
