Comet Neowise from Chimney Top
« on: July 24, 2020, 01:17:24 PM »

The weather and my wife cooperated so I could see the comet earlier this week.

Waiting for darkness there is a 1-day old moon low in the west

A little easier to see

Comet time

I stacked 12 individual photos to reduce the noise a bit

Milky Way, Jupiter and clouds lit by lightning

I had never been to Chimney Top at night. When I got there about 20 people were "waiting" for me, one guy even had a telescope that he was letting people look through. By the end (midnight) it was just me and one other photographer. I left about 12:30 to make my way back to Lexington. Very glad I had the opportunity to see/photograph the comet.

Glad you all liked the photos. The comet was pretty cool to see, but I would have liked to have Chimney Top to myself :)
