Hey Timbros, I really appreciate your help with the mileage, that looks about right to me too. 16 or so miles is definitely what I am looking for. As anyone hiked up the Douglas Trail to the Upper Red? can you still walk along the river or does it turn into a huge ravine making it impossible to walk along the water's edge. I know it turns into some pretty wild rapids so I'm thinking you have to go on a ridgetop and look down into a ravine to see it.

You can walk along the river all the way to Clifty Creek on the Douglass Trail.
