Title: Arches I didn't see
Post by: Cliftyman on August 22, 2002, 03:03:56 AM
Okay guys I am losing my mind once again.  It happens near the end of summer every year.  I start combing the internet for pictures, articles and anything related to getting outdoors in Kentucky.  I have been on the dang internet for about 4 hours now!!!!  I have now made up my mind that next time we visit the Gorge I need to see not only Red Byrd arch but Whittleton Arch, climb Raven's Rock and see Henson's Cave arch.  I AM GOING NUTZ STUCK INSIDE!!

come on now... it wasn't that bad.  granted, just a hole in the ground, but at least it's an easy short hike to get there.  now if he said he was going to make a full day of it...

agreed it wasn't that bad,  but if it was only like your second trip to the gorge???  I mean there are probably more important things to see.

yeah, good point.  it's definitely not a destination or anything.  It's worthing stopping on your way to or from Natural Bridge someday.

But, remember, this is Clifty... this man has a serious issue with holes in the ground  ;D

for real, I have to know if their are little gnomes living down in it!!!  What are yall thinking!!!

Seriously though, it said Henson's Cave Arch was really neat like an arch going over a cave, was the description bogus?

I'd Say more like an arch going over a hole in the ground.

I get the picture, in other words it sucks?

I'll go to Auxier Ridge instead and wade through the driveling hordes then......

you don't have to write it off entirely.  if you have a few extra minutes in the nbsp area, it's a quick visit.

Well, I think Whittleton Arch is pretty cool and worth a visit, and as long as you're in the area for that...

yeah, definitely check out Whittleton Arch... it's much larger and more impressive (imo) than Henson's Cave Arch.

And again, it's easily accessible.
