Snowy and Frozen
« on: February 18, 2021, 10:45:56 AM »

Anybody had a chance to venture out and capture some good photography? I’ve been stuck at home, would enjoy any new frozen landscapes or waterfalls if you’ve got them. Been wondering if any falls froze over completely like they did in 2018. Thanks!

Wow, lots of places closed because of the snow. Only visited 1 waterfall and it wasn't frozen (guess the water was too warm.)  :(

Buttermilk falls

Ice covered trees near the falls

Frozen tower

Unbroken snow is beautiful

Animal tracks in the snow

Only ice we found was along mosquito creek

Hope to be hiking in the gorge next weekend.  :)

Tried posting photos from our trip after the first ice storm but it says the files are to large any idea on how to post photos from my phone?

Maximum file size for any attachment is 2048 kB.  If your individual picture is larger than this it shouldn't post.  Just edit your picture size so that it meets this requirement and you should be fine.

Tried to shrink files and it wouldn’t allow me to post. Tried to switch them to Jpg and still posted an error

Let me check on this for you.  I don't have the specs for the software in front of me, but if I remember correctly, it prevented people from posting pictures until you had accumulated 5 or more posts.  I will follow up on this.

Good Afternoon,  I just spoke with Gene about this.  He is correct, unfortunately spam bots caused us to have to set this limit so they don't beat us all up with adds and other various things.   Once you have made 5 posts you should be ok.    I do know however that the software we use for this site is extremely outdated, and doesn't really work well with phones.  If you still have problems after that let us know and I will see if there is anything I can do to help.

So I converted the photos to JPEG and still won’t allow the post. Also will not allow HEIC format. Not sure what else to do.
