I just saw these posts elsewhere and came here to notify everyone. Thanks duxsrus for beating me to it!

I am so curious about how this closure will impact other trailheads. Tunnel Ridge receives such high volumes of camping/hiking, I wonder where people will wind up.

Also, am I the only one who wonders how many more years until Tunnel Ridge Rd ends up getting paved? In one sense, like along the river, it would actually make it easier to limit and control where people pull off and park. I'm not really advocating for it, but wouldn't be surprised to see it happen (I know the issue - funding)

This just got me yesterday when I was aiming for Koomer Ridge. Wish I had know about it 24 hours ago :)
