Backpacking Sequoia NP
« on: September 21, 2019, 05:14:28 PM »

This past summer I got to spend a week in Sequoia NP. I hiked about 75 miles and climbed Forester Pass (13000' highest pass on the JMT) both going north to south and then the other way. I got perfect weather (highs in mid-70s and lows right about freezing, no rain).

I took a ton of photos, here are a couple hightlights with a ton more at https://backpackandbeer.blogspot.com/2019/09/seki-2019.html

Bullfrog Lake and Shooting Stars

Sky Pilots (my new favorite flower) on top of Forester Pass

Amazing Sunset

Milestone Basin

Headwaters of the Kern River

Milky Way over Mt Tyndall

Small lake on the north side of Forester Pass

Sunset at Kearsarge Lakes

Reflected light from the setting sun

lots more photos (sunsets, stars, and flowers) here https://backpackandbeer.blogspot.com/2019/09/seki-2019.html

glad you liked the photos.

The high Sierra is stunning, I highly recommend at least one visit.
