Went on a site survey; got destroyed by chiggers n ticks more than I ever have on any single hike. Land owners were clear cutters. Awful.

Teepee on Swift Camp Creek
« on: November 20, 2018, 03:18:40 PM »

I was going to go to Castle Arch this weekend but there was no crossing Swift Camp Creek, it was really flowing! Not far from where the trail down starts, across the creek was a huge teepee covered in plastic with what looked like a wooden door. Anyone know anything about it? I should have taken a picture but sadly didn't.

The more I hear about activity in that area, the more depressed I get. When did people decide to start ruining my precious wilderness? It used to be that no one could tell you what was there and didn't want to go even if they knew. I call those the good ol' days.

A couple of weeks ago someone was RV camping on the chimney top loop road and had a fire pit on the road & another couple were camping at the picnic table by the overlook TH. Geez some people...

Getting an RV up Chimney Top road is not a task I would take on and I definitely wouldn't want to be a car coming in the opposite direction of that! Yikes.
