Went on a site survey; got destroyed by chiggers n ticks more than I ever have on any single hike. Land owners were clear cutters. Awful.

The red was looking great yesterday. Wish I had time to go to Muir today.

Hang Em High Horse Camp, or White Oak Boat in; north a bit from there near Horse Lick Creek is the S-tree primitive camps, it's actually quite nice.
If you want large, then of course you're back to state park and lake campgrounds.

That's the funniest da*n thing I've read in a while. KYhiker40, yer up next.

LOL thank you, I try.  ;)

This one is obscure, so just tell me about how I'd go looking for this, or what I was looking for when I came to this dead end.

Sorry guys, I didn't realize it had been so long with no guesses.  This isn't an obscure area, although I'm glad I was there when I was because I wouldn't want to hang a hammock now.

Ok, lets move on from that one to get this moving again.  No guesses, so how about a new pic... This will go quick.  Where was this taken?

I still really want to know where the previous post is from, but I'm gonna go ahead and guess looking back inside Cloudsplitter from the cave/arch/opening whatever you call it for the latest pic.

I think I found your secret spot, and it's weird how it happened. I believe (likely wrong but my best guess since no one else tried) that this is out past the overlook along Star Gap Ridge due north of Andrews Arch. I think you were looking for Andrew's and found this spot instead.

So how do I come to guess this? Google Maps search for Slade yielded this photo:

It's not my photo, but the depressed area with the trees on the right-hand side looks similar to what you posted, with an edge of rock ringing an area of trees. So there, my best guess from a random photo stumbled upon in google maps. Does this WAG grant me the chance to know the real answer? ;)

You got it.  And I messaged you on the other pic.

You're up!

I noticed that I can't see it on my phone, but could see it when I checked on my desktop. Holler if the problem persists and I'll re-link the photo.

Cloud Splitter

Not Cloudsplitter. Similar, but completely different.

Can't see them on desktop, same with your other pictures you posted in Central Kentucky Features thread.
