The red was looking great yesterday. Wish I had time to go to Muir today.

Hang Em High Horse Camp, or White Oak Boat in; north a bit from there near Horse Lick Creek is the S-tree primitive camps, it's actually quite nice.
If you want large, then of course you're back to state park and lake campgrounds.

I'm looking for info regarding backcountry camping in the DBNF London District, preferably near Buck Creek.  Bee Rock and Rockcastle Campgrounds are both closed and we'd prefer to camp more primitively. Little Lick is small and best suited for horses.
Suggestions?

Well, this one is obviously difficult. Is it the small one off the Swift Camp Creek trail?  I won't name it.

Not near SCC. North and west of there.

And it's not that small. Here's one of the crew, for scale.

Not Powder Mill. The unofficial trail near this feature leads up to the same ridge as the Powder Mill trail.

Let's try Flat Iron.

Let's try Flat Iron.

It does look a lot like Flat Iron at first glance, but I don't believe that it is due to hillside in the photo. Flat Iron sits at the edge of a ridge. sweeper certainly has me stumped. My first thoughts were both Powder Mill and Flat Iron due to the perfect "arch-like" shape of the roof. However, it's not either. You must be on Hatton Hollow Trail, but I don't know the official name of this arch. You win sweeper, I can't figure it out.

Not Hatton Hollow. Very close. This trail connects from Spaas Creek. And near as I can tell, this feature does not have a recognized name.

The full story is less than flattering. I was aiming to explore Camp Branch, but missed that valley and found this instead. Anyway, Bazinga, you were the first to guess the right region (let's just say it's near Hatton Ridge) so feel free to post the next picture.

Anymore when Bazinga posts to "Where in the Red" I just wait for someone else to guess... no one can get on her level!

Just to get some movement, is this across Spaas Creek from Blackburn?

Guess again.  West of Parched Corn Creek and SE of Spaas Creek.
