When: May 23 - May 26, 2014

Where: Lone Star Preserve, Bonnieville Kentucky

Hosted by the Louisville Grotto, Speleofest 2014 is going to be bigger than ever as we celebrate the Lone Star Preserve being completely paid off at last. To celebrate we have lowered the prices and made some exciting changes. To keep the cave trips interesting, we are migrating south to Barren County for led trips to several new locations that have not been offered in recent years. As our guest speaker Saturday night, we are excited to have Roger Brucker, renowned Mammoth Cave explorer and author. Also there will be some fun new activities to spark up a little competition between cavers throughout the weekend.

Some people asked if you have to be a grotto member or NSS member to attend Speleofest. The answer is No, you do not. Speleofest is open to experienced cavers and new cavers alike.

Please be advised that the caving at Speleofest is not anything like a commercial tour. We go on wild caving trips. If you are new to caving, please familiarize yourself with the information on our "caving at Speleofest" webpage to learn more. http://louisville.caves.org/speleofest_caving.shtml

If caving is not your thing, that's alright. Many or perhaps even most people come to Speleofest just to camp, relax, socialize, and enjoy the evening festivities. There are other day-time activities close by such as rivers for kayaking, hiking trails, commercial cave tours, and tourist attractions.
