Title: Memorial Day Around Rough Trail
Post by: shaman on May 27, 2019, 06:59:31 PM
A nice and foggy (and wet!) morning along Rough Trail near Martin's Fork:

A Hemlock rejoicing because it finally rained last night:

Lots of ferns on Rough Trail:

I didn't see any damage from the storm last night. I was thankful for that. We had a tornado warning on the Madison/Estill County line which is just 18 miles west of the Gorge. The radar showed that same front heading east. The winds must have died down by then.
All the plants looked good. They sure needed the rain!!

Nice hike!
Thanks! It was nice and damp and cool, until the sun burned through the fog about noon on the climb out of Martin's Fork, up D. Boon Hut trail...
