Title: Estero Bay Preserve State Park (FL)
Post by: keith on October 26, 2017, 08:33:06 PM
While it doesn't compare to fall in Kentucky, I managed to get out this weekend and snap a few pics.

I grew up in Ft Myers and have canoed on the Estero River a couple times, only went hiking in the area after I had moved away and was back for a visit. If the weather cooperates, outdoors in FL in October can be great, but frequently you are just hoping for cooler weather :)

I saw your Six Mile Slough photos and those bring back some memories as well. I used to love that place.

thanks for the photos and memories

Glad you liked 'em. And "hoping for cooler weather" accurately describes about 8 months of the year. "Longing for hills" covers the other 4.  ;D

The Slough is still closed since Hurricane Irma.

Planning to do some kayaking soon (after healing a broken hand). Either the Estero River out to Mound Key or a stretch up on the Alafia River. More pics then.
